These mummified remains are to be displayed in the “Secrets of the Silk Road: Mystery Mummies of China,” that will start on 27 March 2010, at Santa Ana, California’s Bowers Museum. The mummy, also known as “The Beauty of Xiaohe”, is 3,800 years old and are the remains of a Caucasian woman that was discovered in western China.
Mummies were commonly buried in woven plaids with small bags filled with medicinal herbs and herbs prized for their magical qualities. Was the herbs used the reason why this mummy still is so well preserved? Unbelievable isn’t it!
